Romney vs Palin: ANOTHER Fake Conflict from the Alinsky Left

Mitt Romney is a decent guy, a gentleman with character and class- particularly when compared to what we’re stuck with in the White House now. He said nothing offensive whatsoever against Palin, there was no "swipe" when he made a mild joke that implied she's attractive (which of course she is)- and IMO it is ridiculous to scrape for some sort of wrongdoing here.  This only benefits Team Obama and the Democratic Party... so it's easy to see that stoking the flames of this non-event is just more manipulation from the Obama sycophants of the MSM. They then will tell you that the GOP is at war with itself,  the leadership has disregarded Palin... and that Romney is an underhanded, fratricidal operator.

The current abhorrent situation in Washington calls for GOP party unity… rather than foolishly playing into the Machiavellian Emanuel and Obama’s hands by engaging in unecessary and self-destructive  primary battles two years early.  There is no benefit whatsoever to the Republican Party in that- especially as the country is being dragged into the abyss by the Democrats.

Team Obama and the DNC have been employing despicable Alinsky-esque divide-and-conquer/character assassination techniques for months now… manufacturing synthetic “fights” like Rush vs. Steele, plus ceaseless ridicule of Jindal, Palin, even shameful distortion of the legacy of Ronald Reagan. Clearly, the strategy is to eliminate GOP rallying points and philosophical framework for 2010/12 and create the image of a party in disarray.

And what’s been done to Palin and her family by the MSM is beyond-the-pale. But the left is so self-righteous -ala USSR- that they feel any means justify the ends… even editing interviews disingenuously, digging through her closet, or and attacking her children in the national media.

If Governor Palin’s so silly and irrelevant, why the obsession?

The fact is that Palin has been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model… this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks. She turns their nonsensical liberal world-view on it’s head... and with a smile.  Trouble for them is, if more people were like Palin, the Dems would have no reason for existing- and her success humiliates them.

The DNC is terrified of Palin coming-back at them in 2012 with a dynamic and complementary VP like Bobby Jindal… or visa versa.  And they have plenty of reason to fear her-
Palin is the most popular governor in the country; her 60+% approval rating exceeds that of the MSM-pumped Obama… are all those people up there idiots?
Alaska was a pretty corrupt system until she stepped in. Her reforms took on entrenched politicians (inc. Republicans), a mafioso-style union boss, and Big Oil.
Wouldn’t it have been nice if Obama had been principled and brave enough to confront the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine?
Shady political operators like Tony Rezko?
Racist preachers?
Instead of doing business with every last one of them?
Go get em, Sarah and Mitt- we have a lot more in common that what divides us in the GOP- and I think we are all in agreement that either of these individuals would be a big improvement over the Bolshevik charlatan we've got now.  And don’t mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion... which is coming sooner than you think.

As an Alaskan, I want to mention that Gov. Palin is not a fiscal conservative. Social conservative? Yes, emphatically so.

She has been accused of throwing people under the bus, if they have become a liability to her. However, looking beyond that mere fact to what lies behind it: she makes decisions quickly regarding associations that would tend to drag her down. Some people here see that as disloyalty. Others think is pragmatism. And she has proven her loyalty to those she's worked with in the past, whom she knows can get the job done.

Frankly, most of the griping against her, here, is sour grapes.

She'd make a great President OR Vice-President!

We should remember that to divide and conquer is a lesson that is repeated throughout history.

I would expect this type of attack to continue as we get closer to the 2012 election. For all the charges pressed against Gov. Palin, she has weathered very well. Thrusted into the spotlight last fall she really endeared herself to the public.

The real thing to consider on the Conservative side - is there going to be a TRUE Conservative rear their head or are we looking at another lukewarm candidate (McCain) to lead the GOP down into the Abyss of politics.

Only time will tell....

Amen to that.

Compare what they did to Palin's family to the free pass that they gave John Edwards when he was a Presidential candidate.

Obama is completely out-of-control.

But what should we expect with a compliant congress, neutered press, brain-dead VP, and a cabinet full of obedient, partisan toadies?

Great post. The left is afraid of Palin so they are trying to bring her down before she can come back to haunt them in 2012.
Romney/Palin 2012.

I agree the attacks are baseless. I fully expect this to continue until at least the mid-term elections and most likely up until 2012. The have to paint the conservative candidates as irrelevant while holding up moderates like Specter and Snow. That way they can keep the power structure intact and to their advantage.

I agree. The only hope the Dumbocrats have is to paint the conservatives in the Republican party as irrelevant while holding up RINOs like Specter and Snow. It is the only way they can survive through the mid-terms and on to the general election. I expect the rhetoric and attacks to get a lot more venomous as the elections draw closer.

The left are already in campaign mode. You are right, they FEAR Palin because the moment she came to the stage the Republican party charged up, the voters could stomach voting for McCain, knowing it was really a vote for Palin, and they heard a conservative voice sounding a lot like average, American citizens.

There will be consistent attacks against anyone and everyone who looks promising on the Republican side. Beware of where you get your news. If the media hates someone, fights against someone, or speaks evil of someone...that someone is probably really a conservative.

Nice blog. The pictures of Reagan are great...make me homesick for better days...

The continued attacks on Palin are contemptible.
The MSM just cannot stop. Anything at all will do. Last time it was Palin setting on a Bear Skin, what the hell?

Vanity Fair August 2009 issue has a piece on her by Todd Purdum titled: Sarah Palin; The Lies, the Meltdowns, and the Moose-Size Ambition! I'm no strong Palin fan, but the piece is over the top.
