Barney Frank Employing Plants Now?

F
or fans of political theatre, the next couple months ought to provide some epic entertainment as the arrogant and detached Democrats' Big Bang legislative scheme does a face-plant... and the statists that planned to foist this on us scramble to save what they can of their agenda, power, and dignity.

Here's a great post from California patriot Left Coast Rebel, who did an impressive bit of virtual-gumshoe work in catching Mr Frank using what appears to be a plant from the union -or his staff- to play act in front of the local news cameras up in Beantown. These sort of cynical charades seems to be running rampant among nervous Democrats now... not just Team Obama.

These are guys are getting plenty desperate, and the next 40-60 days might be pretty comical as they try to keep ObamaCare together with chewing gum and duct-tape.

Great job, Rebel- you build a solid case here, photographic evidence seems indisputable...

Emerging Consensus = Dems Doomed

It increasingly appears that the contentious Obamacare debate has evolved into a legislative and PR debacle that could incinerate the Democrats' massive electoral mandate. This looming failure would be the beginning-of-the-end for the foohardy Obamamania fad, along with it's radical initiatives... thereby providing the country with a much-needed rollback of unbridled leftist power. Yesterday's Zogby Poll shows Obama's approval rating at 45%- a startling new low, even for Zogby- quite a dissipation of political capital after just 7 months in office.

And every day the president look more desperate- now you're likely to see the real Chicago-Machine Obama that lies behind the on-cue grins. He knows the HC bill has become a political quagmire, and of his own doing, regardless of relentless scapegoating... so the smiling, sensitive Barack is going on-the-shelf for awhile. While we're told of his cool demeanor (ad-nauseum), snarky asides have often shown cracks to the observant. Narcissists have no mechanism for dealing with opposition, either- it's a primary symptom of the condition... they take it all so personally. Surely more Obama drama to come.

Meanwhile, the guy can't stop whining about a essentially-powerless GOP's opposition to his bill. If enough Democrats supported it, he wouldn't need to lash-out with preachy accusations of "GOP conspiracy" against ObamaCare. Such charges ring hollow and look a crude diversion, since since Americans have become more skeptical of his specious agenda by-the-day. Clearly, he'd be better-off pursuing Blue Dog votes, rather than from the GOP- but what he really wants is political cover for a bill he's determined to force-through... but has already become political poison with an enraged electorate.

In his world -even though Republicans have been plenty specific in their critique- all those who oppose his statist schemes for any reason are reactionary, racist conspirators... since we couldn't possibly just be spooked by big-government proposals in a nation with no widespread desire for the type of programs that he and his progressive cult seem to think are so modern.

Now
we hear of threats from union thugs against recalcitrant legislators
- as noted at
Moonbattery, The Teamsters' Grand Poobah Jimmy Hoffa is saying that Blue Dogs who don't go-along with ObamaCare are "making a big mistake"... an ominous message, considering the source. Let's all pray the brave and principled 'Dogs aren't transformed into bluish grease-spots anytime soon.

This is -of course- is nothing new to Barack, and varies little from the the Chicago Way... you know, that cesspool of corruption that created Obama in the first-place. In fitting with that theme, irrepressible conservative-commando Michelle Malkin has exposed David Axelrod's huge confilict of interest in getting this HC reform package rammed-through- hey, Larry's from Chicago... isn't he?

Obama looks plenty nervous now, too- the previous swagger gone. The boy-President appears bewildered, like when the Wizard of Oz had his curtain yanked-away. The reality is that Obama has practically no experience in dealing with GOP nor actual popular resistance, that was all handled by The Machine... even had opponents taken off the ballot, and the rails were always well-greased. Nor has he the slightest interest in the sort of compromise that would serve him so well at this point. Unsettled and without a road-map from here, The One has actually begun to descend into nervous drivel, as when he stated on Thursday that DC was getting "wee-weed up"- Huh? Very presidential- (h/t Another Black Conservative)

The obsequious MSM have proceeded to make comprehensive asses of themselves, also cracking under the pressure. Anybody with a rudimentary understanding of manufacturing can tell you that cranking-up production puts big strains on quality-control... and the pro-Obama MSM has been working three-shifts to manufacture GOP scandal and public support of Obamacare... simultaneously demonizing any and all opponents. And while Mr Coffee could recall machines that caught fire and retain some customer faith, an MSM that never acknowledges that it produced a lemon is damn sure to lose all theirs, and permanently... thus the ceaselessly-tanking ratings.

MSNBC -who's credibility was already down to one quark- was pushing so hard to prop-up Obama's crumbling HC initiative with fantastical allegations of "white racism" behind good-faith ObamaCare protests that they stooped to altering the photo of the man who carried an AR-15 to a rally, in-order to fit their fictional racial narrative- (h/t Government Mess) Just couldn't let that opportunity slip-by, could they? Like robbing gas-stations, this stuff works until you get caught.

Smitty at The Other McCain has pointed-out the inherent squishy-ness in Peggy Noonan's excuse-making for the politically tone-deaf Obama, too- then presented the surprisingly viable argument that some 80s thrash-skate-punk (!) bands have more economic sense than this hubristic -yet clueless- White House (and I thought it was cool that Alice Cooper turned-out to be a closet-conservative). His bottom line? The math just doesn't pencil-out with ObamaCare... period- and to think otherwise is dilusional.

Sleight-of-hand such as the new shell-game scheme to split the bill into two more disgestible chunks isn't doing much to restore the already-agitated American electorate's faith in him or his agenda, either. Moderates must feel pretty used by a guy who pretended to be something that he's not -reasonable, bipartisan, moderate- in order to basically steal their votes... so they're not likely to be in the mood to take any more crap sandwiches from this administration come September.

As reported in the Wall St. Journal, Obama's always-disengenuous promises of "post-partisanship" have turned to ashes-
Obama critics say that is an inevitable result of his push for far-reaching liberal polices even as he made undefined offers to win over moderates and conservatives... Six mos. into Mr Obama's presidency, a growing core of Americans is turning against the president, including some voters he won-over during the campaign.

Riehl World View has noted that the President faces a perfect storm of opposition- surely this isn't going to plan for the Snake-Oil-Salesman-in-Chief. As noted at Politico yesterday, Obama's influence with increasingly-apprehensive Democratic legislators may have already evaporated:
Charlie Cook, one of the best political handicappers in the business, sent out a special update to Cook Political Report subscribers Thursday that should send shivers down Democratic spines.
Reviewing recent polling and the 2010 election landscape, Cook can envision a scenario in which Democratic House losses could exceed 20 seats.
"These data confirm anecdotal evidence, and our own view, that the situation this summer has slipped completely out of control for President Obama and Congressional Democrats."
Cook scrupulously avoided any mention that Democratic control of the House is in jeopardy but, noting a new Gallup poll showing Congress’ job disapproval at 70 percent among independents, concluded that the post-recess environment could feel considerably different than when Congress left in August.
"We believe it would be a mistake to underestimate the impact that this mood will have on Members of Congress of both parties when they return to Washington in September, if it persists through the end of the Congressional recess."
With the classic mid-term correction in the legislative branch working in the GOP's favor this time, the Dems reckless spending, disunity, and serial incompetence seem to be sealing that as a coming certainty. What Republicans need to to is hold-true to their Reaganite principles, and ally with the Blue Dogs to 86 this ill-conceived, Orwellian legislation.

We don't have a trillion-dollars+ anyway... and I'm not cool with the idea of China being my health-insurance underwriter- are you?

Is America A Paralyzed Nation?

Today’s Washington Times ran a piece about actor Jon Voight.  An outstanding blog that's always in my regular reading cycle  -No Sheeples Here- posted an intriguing analysis of his comments that I felt the need to share... because he challenges us all with this incendiary question:

“Is President Obama creating a
civil war in our own country?"

One must admire the genuine courage of anyone employed in Hollywood who speaks their mind freely... especially an avowed conservative like Mr. Voight (shame about his moonbat daughter, though...).  Such people as Voight and Clint Eastwood -in the mold of Reagan in his acting days, fighting the communist-backed studio unions- are the kind of principled patriots that this country could use a few more of... especially "out there" on the Left Coast.

It was Obama's supposed "hero" Abraham Lincoln -a president who actually presided over a civil war- who had stated:

“If we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Why REAL Revolutionaries Should Pretend to Be Something Else- by Barack Obama

Back in 2005 in an open letter to the far-left propaganda
rag
Daily Kos, Barack Obama spoke to his fellow would-be revolutionaries on how presenting a disingenuous moderate front to the public was the best way to further the progressive cause:
I thought this might be a good opportunity to offer some thoughts about ... how to bring about meaningful change in this country.
There is one way, over the long haul, to guarantee the appointment of judges that are sensitive to issues of social justice, and that is to win the right to appoint them by recapturing the presidency and the Senate. And I don’t believe we get there by vilifying good allies, with a lifetime record of battling for progressive causes, over one vote or position.
We won’t be able to transform the country with such a polarized electorate.
... it is necessary for Democrats to get some backbone, give as good as they get, brook no compromise, drive out Democrats who are interested in “appeasing” the right wing, and enforce a more clearly progressive agenda.
The country, finally knowing what we stand for and seeing a sharp contrast, will rally to our side and thereby usher in a new progressive era.

All this should sound familiar to anyone who's ever juxtaposed Obama's "moderate" spiel against the stealthily-radical, stubbornly partisan, and even bullying legislative actions of his presidency. He suggested back then -in 2005- that his fellow ultra-liberals fight quietly, and talk speciously -as to not scare-off middle America- while pretending to be bipartisan, reasonable, and open to compromise. This strategy was subsequently employed in his tightly-scripted presidential campaign. Obama was showing his fellow disgruntled anti-establishment types at Kos the shining path: Bide your time for when the White House and Senate are in the hands of "progressives"... and then, and only then -as noted today at Stop the ACLU- just ram the whole revolution right-down America's throat.

Well, what else to expect from such a self-proclaimed Trojan-horse, then? One who even let it slip-out on the stump last year that he's a "blank canvas" that people can project their (naive) wishes upon? Saul Alinsky taught his Bolshevik Grasshopper well... how to game the system and mask one's true intentions, while scheming to realize truly radical change. According to Alinsky, the effective radical should "sound like you're from the middle-class, and act like you're for the middle-class... then you destroy the middle-class."

As such -and in violation of many pledges of bipartisanship- the New York Times reports that Obama and the Democrats are indeed planning to go-it-alone if necessary on ObamaCare and inflict this radical, big-government power-grab upon an disapproving majority. This would seem to be a reckless political suicide from where I'm standing... and with the Blue Dogs far from happy yet, no slam-dunk, either.

It's a good thing that most Americans love this country and it's freedoms... and they don't like a fake. The recent contentious debate over ObamaCare has brought harsh reality to vast numbers of those who were mistaken or deluded into thinking Barack was some good-faith regular guy who could be trusted and loved baseball, apple pie, etc. In reality, there's really not much in this society that he plans to spare from the wrecking-ball... and this realization has moderates abandoning his initiatives in droves.

A new NBC poll now shows a plurality of Americans believe that ObamaCare would worsen the quality of HC in this country... and a weak 40% support the President's handling of the issue. Looks like he's lost that legendary mojo on the stump, too- the President's recent streak of town-hall and other campaigning for HC reform has had no positive effect whatsoever... rather, it's rallied the opposition.

For anyone still out-there (take that how you like) that actually still believes Obama's hollow promises to be "bipartisan", "post-partisan", "moderate", or even "open to listening to opposing views" (LOL)... it's time to take a hard look at the gaping chasm between the rhetoric and the reality of today's Obama Administration. NOW would be an excellent time to come out of the wishful-thinking ether and realize that not only have you been lied to... but you yourself have committed an act of negligence by not having the gumption to do any due diligence on this treacherous radical before you ran-out and voted for him.

Perhaps you just went-along with the crowd last November, felt racially-guilt tripped, or maybe it was the "soaring rhetoric" got to you... but it's hard to understand or excuse those who ignored the myriad Obama red-flags regarding Rezko, Daley, and Blago... bad-faith political maneuvering... and ultra-radical mentors from Frank Marshall Davis-to-Saul Alinsky-to-Bill Ayers.... well, there were ample warning signs for those who cared to look. The least you could do now would be to help the rest of us put the brakes on the Obama-Pelosi-Reid triumvirate's legislative and spending blitz... as they're completely out-of-control.

Someday a lot of people are going to lie to their grandchildren about who they voted for back in '08... as we'll all wince at the very mention of the name Obama. But it won't take that long for Americans to realize that putting this calculating, habitually-dishonest, and vengeful subversive in the WH with a powerful congressional majority might be the biggest mistake that this country's ever made... and the awakening has already begun.
