Andy Stern to Resign as SEIU Head

The disturbingly influential head of the Purple People Beaters is planning to step-down, according to Politico- this of course comes as a surprise, right at the peak for this power-hungry rabble-rouser .  Strange it is... so what's he up to?- best to keep an eye on this one.

As noted at Maggie's Notebook:

Andy Stern, the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the man who tops the White House "most visited list," who was just appointed to Obama's "National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform" commission and now enjoys a revolving door to the White House without signing the visitor's log, the man who didn't bother going stealth to work-up Obama's plan to exempt Unions from full health care costs, the man who says "he is wired to the White House," will announce that he will retire as SEIU's president in 2012.

Stern is allegedly saying he has outlived his usefulness. Well, I don't know about you, but I didn't just start paying attention today. This is not about Stern outliving his usefulness. I don't know what it is "about," but whatever it is, it includes Barack Obama.
Speculation is running wild, including the suggestion that he could be considered for SCOTUS (!).  If you wiegh the fact that Stern has not only enjoyed unprecedented WH access for a union thug like himself, but is already a force to be dealt with within the leftist cabal that runs this country, nothing should surprise us, really- especially with Obama getting more obstinate and radical by the day.

But Michelle Malkin observes that it may have had to do with internal union politics as anything else- as perhaps the new AFL-CIO leader Richard Trumka wishes to re-assert influence over an SIEU that grew more independent under Andy Stern. And Trumka pushing Stern towards the door is nothing to get too enthused about, as he's the one who was caught lying last week about hearing racists taunts from TEA Party activists.

Andy Stern loves power, has a massive ego, and revels in his influence and access to Obama- statements that imply he's outlived his usefulness and/or is burned-out on the job hold no water... like most leftists, Stern seems to think you're stupid.  He retains his seat on Dear Leader's farcical "deficit commission", among other things... so as with Obama, watch what he does... and don't waste too much time trying to decipher the condescending hogwash you get from him as an explanation. Stay tuned~
