Obama "out-of-touch with 80% of the American people"...
It's become common knowledge that the power-mad American Left is in deep, deep political trouble primarily due to the reckless expansion of government engineered by Team Obama. But while many conservatives are nervously pondering what could go wrong in the next few days to blow this precious opportunity, others see a larger, deeper change in the political environment of our country that goes much farther than just a single election cycle... myself included.
It increasingly does appear that we are experiencing a full-on renaissance of the American conservative movement... one based on personal liberty and fiscal discipline, and under perhaps a wider social-issues tent then in the past. It's the opposition to outrageous spending and the Dems' Big Government agenda that brought the TEA Party movement to the verge of power, and it's those issues that unite the resurgent Right in America today.
Here in the run-up to perhaps the most vital mid-term elections in US history, Nile Gardiner at The Telegraph (UK) says it's not just the tone of this mid-term election... but the sheer scale of the conservative wave sweeping America that really makes the impression on him. As for the now-ubiquitous Titanic analogies... better think Poseidon Adventure:
Gallup has another devastating poll which makes extremely grim reading for the White House today. Gallup’s polling shows that 48 percent of Americans now regard themselves as conservative, higher than each of the last three midterms, compared to just 20 percent who describe themselves as liberals. In addition, Gallup reveals that 55 percent of likely voters next week are Republican or lean Republican, in contrast to 40 percent who are Democrat or lean Democrat...
The poll underscores not only the huge advantage the Republicans have going into next week’s election, but also the sheer scale of the conservative revolution in America. As Gallup shows, conservatives now outnumber liberals by an almost 2.5 to 1 ratio. Liberals make up just 20 percent of the American population. Barack Obama is the most left-wing president in US history, and is clearly out of touch with at least 80 percent of the American people, who clearly do not share his ideology.
Next Tuesday looks set to be an epic disaster for the Left in America, and the capsizing of the president’s Big Government dream.

The great recovery, from the great unifier......
A$$ meets foot, heh.
First, can't stop laughing at the picture. Classic!
Second the up swing of folks who now consider themselves as conservative shows the independent has swung right, hopefully for good.
Third (I think you'll love this) my "Democrat" boss voted early, yesterday. His vote... Straight Republican ticket. His reason "I am done with the Democrats"
The guy is not only a good friend and great boss... But smart, too! :)
I just hope people don't let neo-cons run the conservative roost like was happening pre-Obama. Remember, they also voted for the Patriot Act and Big Government -- their Big Government was just in a different form than the Democrats' version. I'd prefer to see Libertarians voted in, but I'll gladly take pretty much anyone who is fiscally conservative since government can't get into as much trouble when its purse strings are cut.
I myself still embrace most of the Bush doctrine overseas Wes- but domestically, imho you are indeed correct that W's expansion of government was a bad thing, no doubt sir
Great link on that commercial RR.
I find it very telling at work (UAW,Michigan) that all the people screaming 'Hope and Change' the last election cycle are silent, and I mean the silence is deafening!
There are the exceptions though;
From some I get; "Yea I know, you said this was going to happen". Others I see actually working AGAINST democrats. But for the vast majority, they are silent.
This please me for two reasons; (1) I do not have to debate day in and day out and (2) That they not promote outwardly the socialist agenda speaks volumes as to what they inwardly believe and what they will do on Tuesday.
Thanks Randy... and buy him a beer, Mark! Your boss is like Todd Rundgren, he saw the light lol.
Christopher, it's weird with some of those we debated with in '08... it's funny watch some of them squirm like a worm, change the subject, and avert their eyes when The One is brought up...
When Gallup has to admit it, things are bad for Liberals.
I hope all of this holds through Tuesday. I have to say, this was an encouraging post, RR. I've been covering the voter fraud (more to post in just a bit), and it's been freaking out a bit.
Agreed Maggie
And I feel the same, Matt- it's unsettling indeed to read these stories and start to wonder just how deep is the rot... and how much more margin do we need to overcome it
Who knows for sure what tomorrow's election holds, but from all indications, it does look promising. Here in Oklahoma, it appears the Republican candidate for Governor has a commanding lead over her opponent, but I have been warning that we need to take this seriously. No matter what kind of lead Mary Fallin has, Jari Askins has a way of sneaking up and pulling out close victories. She has a history of winning races she should not win. Hopefully, we can have a major voter turnout and that will not happen.
Speaking nationally, it does look encouraging, but the same applies. We need to get out the vote, if for no other reason than to counter the voter fraud that Matt has been writing about.
Good post, RR.
Good post, RR. I'm also encouraged by those numbers, but I also think we need to be all-the-more diligent in holding all those newbies accountable. If our preferred candidates are paying attention, they aren't entertaining thoughts of "fitting in" as much as "fixing."
