Rush Limbaugh Wedding
Rush Limbaugh, 59, is going to tie the knot for the fourth time this weekend, reports the Palm Beach Post. He's set marry the Kathryn Rogers, 33, in an intimate ceremony at his Palm Beach compound.... with Elton John rumored to be providing the music for the long-anticipated Rush Limbaugh wedding reception... live.
Rush Limbaugh didn't exactly confirm any details but asked for privacy in an email to Page2Live, gossip site for the Post. "We try to live our lives as normal people," Limbaugh wrote. "We do NOT seek media attention, we do not want it, especially for this. It is very special, obviously, and we just don't want any media attention."
Kathryn Rogers, who met Rush Limbaugh in 2004, was by his side when he suffered a heart attack in December 2009.
John Wooden Pyramid of Success
John Wooden was of-course a famed basketball player and coach, as well as motivational expert. He was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player (class of 1961) and as a coach (class of 1973). He was the first person ever enshrined in both categories; only Lenny Wilkens and Bill Sharman have since been so honored. And John Wooden's ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period while at UCLA are unmatched by any other college basketball coach.
John Wooden is revered for his Pyramid of Success- many that played under him utilized these guidelines to achieve great success and happiness in life, as have millions outside of basketball... therefore he was considered a "life coach" as well, as his wisdom had wide applicability. I myself am a huge fan of John Wooden and his Pyramid of Success- I even went out and bought his official Beta shoes when I was 16, ha- the instructors at Ohio State basketball camp had taught me a bit about the Wooden way...
Industriousness “There is no substitute for hard work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning.”
Enthusiasm “Enthusiasm brushes off upon those with whom you come in contact. You must truly enjoy what you are doing.”
Friendship “Friendship comes from mutual esteem, respect and devotion. Like marriage, it must not be taken for granted but requires a joint effort.”
Cooperation “Cooperate with all levels of your co-workers. Listen if you want to be heard. Be interested in finding the best way, not in having your way.”
Loyalty “Loyalty to yourself and to all those depending upon you. Keep your self-respect.”
Self-Control “Practice self-discipline and keep emotions under control. Good judgment and common sense are essential.”
Alertness “Be observing constantly. Stay open-minded. Be eager to learn and improve.”
Initiative “Cultivate the ability to make decisions and think alone. Do not be afraid of failure, but learn from it.”
Intentness “Set a realistic goal. Concentrate on its achievement by resisting all temptations and being determined and persistent.”
Condition “Mental-Moral-Physical. Rest, exercise and diet must be considered. Moderation must be practiced. Dissipation must be eliminated.”
Skill “A knowledge of and the ability to properly and quickly execute the fundamentals. Be prepared and cover every little detail.”
Team Spirit “A genuine consideration for others. An eagerness to sacrifice personal interests of glory for the welfare of all.”
Poise “Just being yourself. Being at ease in any situation. Never fighting yourself.”
Confidence: “Respect without fear. May come from being prepared and keeping all things in proper perspective.”
Competitive Greatness: — “Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a difficult challenge."

The Iron Lady Speaketh!
So very relevant to our current predicament in USA- and some things for the Lindsey Grahams of the world too, like no compromise on conservative principles:
There can be no liberty unless there is economic liberty.
A world without nuclear weapons would be less stable and more dangerous for all of us.
I seem to smell the stench of appeasement in the air.
Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by the traffic from both sides.
Nothing is more obstinate than a fashionable consensus.
There are still people in my party who believe in consensus politics. I regard them as Quislings, as traitors... I mean it.
To me, consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects.
To cure the British disease with socialism was like trying to cure leukaemia with leeches.
Pennies do not come from heaven. They have to be earned here on earth.
People think that at the top there isn't much room. They tend to think of it as an Everest. My message is that there is tons of room at the top.
The trouble with socialism is, eventually you run out of other people's money.
I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.
Power is like being a lady... if you have to tell people you are, you aren't.
I owe nothing to Women's Lib.
God Bless You Margaret Thatcher...

Obama to Save MSM by Taxing Your Laptop and Broadband!
![]() |
| Naked Authors |
Obviously, the last thing a statist control-freak like Barack Obama needs is an all-out, open competition on the web for the many readers now leaving the MSM in droves... then have them wind-up reading some reactionary, anti-progressive rag like Brietbart or the Reaganite Republican. Seriously bloggers, your First Amendment rights are coming under pressure from the Bolshevik Boy Wonder yet again... this in today's New York Post:
In a just-released "staff discussion draft" of "potential policy recommendations to support the reinvention of journalism," the agency (FTC) only circles its wagons around old newspapers and their fading business models.
If the FTC wants to reinvent journalism, perhaps it should align with news' disruptors. But there's none of that in this report. The word blog is used but once in 35 pages of text--and then only in a parenthetical mention of soccer blogs. Discussion of investing in technology comes on the last page in a suggestion about tools for "improved electronic note-taking."
* Granting antitrust exemptions to allow publishers to collude on pricing to consumers and to business partners.
* Giving news organizations tax exemptions.
* Subsidizing news organizations by increasing government funding to public broadcasting; establishing an AmeriCorps to pay reporters; giving news companies tax credits for employing journalists; creating a national fund for local news, and giving the press an increased postal subsidy.
And that's not all they've got up their sleeve: The FTC is also discussing the possibility of awarding the MSM strict, new copyright protections primarily meant to restrict the unruly rabble of the New Media... including something called proprietory facts- meaning they actually own distribution rights on the truth...? And that squares with the First Amendment how exactly, Mr Holder?
FTC staff declares defeat in the search for business models so it may explore many government interventions, including:
* Expanding copyright law and restricting the doctrine of fair comment to benefit legacy publishers.
Most dangerous of all, the FTC considers a doctrine of "proprietary facts," as if anyone should gain the right to restrict the flow of information just as the information is opening it up. Copyright law protects the presentation of news but no one owns facts -- and if anyone did, you could be forbidden from sharing them. How does that serve free speech?
40 Al Qaida Mercenaries Among Captives, IDF Bolsters Case with New Tape
Gateway Pundit reports 40 martyrdom-seeking
Al Qaida terrorists among the captives:
Now there is information that 40 of the so-called “peace activists” belong to Al-Qaeda.
In a special meeting of the Security Cabinet it was disclosed that a group of 40 people on board the Mavi Marmara with no identification papers belong to Al Qaeda. The terrorists were equipped with bullet proof vests, night-vision goggles, and weapons.
Caroline Glick at the Jerusalem Post says formerly western-leaning Turkey has apparently joined the jihadi-iIslamist axis. While that's unfortunate, not totally surprising... but perhaps the EU and Obama administration might still explain why they're promptly backing -before hearing the facts- a blockade-crashing boatload of Al Qaida terrorists over our ally Israel's right to stop gun-running Islamists with no papers from reaching their buddies in Hamasistan?

Netanyahu Strongly Defends IDF Actions
While the Gaza flotilla event has sparked the predictable international firestorm -especially amongst those already predisposed to loathe Israel's every move- a lot of talk is now focusing on Israel's "blunder" -by the IDF inspecting the flotilla in international waters- but I for one am sure not seeing it that way. Bibi Netanyahu isn't either- as Israel defends itself.
There is certainly precedent for this throughout the world when it comes to preventing terror attacks, this time obviously by Hamas and from a flotilla with radical backing... and obviously looking for trouble. The IDF was primarily looking for missiles... why would these nice, smiley-face humanitarians have any problem with that? Same as we all do to North Korean ships now, and for the same reason, no?
Don't forget, 5 of the 6 ships in the flotilla had already been inspected peacefully and without incident on Sunday, anyway... only the last ones chose to physically attack IDF personnel, they and only they introduced violence to the situation. The Israelis had even offered to deliver what humanitarian aid they did possess to Gaza for free... but weren't in a position to excuse any deliberate and provocative blockade runners... why should they, nor to just stand there and get shot at as some on the Left seem to think they should:
People on board that ship beat, clubbed and stabbed soldiers, and there was a report of gunfire, he said.
Both Lieberman and Ayalon disputed claims that Israel had broken international law when it boarded the vessel.
“Israel is a sovereign state and cannot accept any challenge to its sovereignty,” said Lieberman. “This is not the first time Israel has stopped ships in international waters. When a ship refuses to accede to warnings and obey instructions, we have the right to board it [under] international law.”
Ayalon, who said he planned to hold discussions on Tuesday with key North American Jewish leaders and organizations, said the flotilla “was an armada of hate and violence,” and added, “It was a premeditated and outrageous provocation.”
The flotilla’s organizers had ties to global jihad, al-Qaida and Hamas, said Ayalon.
“Their intent was violent, their methods were violent and their results were unfortunately violent,” he said.

Amid the international criticism and protests, Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Ayalon all strongly reaffirmed the policy of intercepting the flotilla and firmly backed the conduct of the IDF itself.
“I fully support the IDF action,” said Netanyahu. He explained to reporters after a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper that Israel needed to check the cargo that the flotilla was bringing to Gaza, to ensure it contained no weapons. This had been done successfully with five ships, but the sixth had not cooperated, said Netanyahu.
