Ronald Reagan @ 100: Portrait in Courage

"a one-man battalion"

Ronald Reagan's well-sorted views regarding the USSR, communism, and the then-emerging Cold War were initially formed by his own personal experiences in the Hollywood labor strike in the Fall of 1946.

According to author Peter Schweizer's (Reagan's War) research of Soviet archives, the Hollywood strike's leader - pugnacious rabble-rouser Herb Sorrell- was directly funded by the American Communist Party and received operational help/strategy from Soviet agents.

Sorrell was head of the Conference of Studio Unions (CSU), and the goal was nothing less than (communist) control of the Hollywood film industry. He had said at the onset of the of the strike "There may be men hurt, there may be men killed before this is over"- and had brought in crews of goons, just in case things got rough as he was predicting... a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The Screen Actors' Guild had voted on whether to join the pickets, but a majority of actors decided not to honor the strike. Reagan's own employer at the time -Warner Brothers Studio- was determined to keep up to production schedule, and simply advised SAG actors crossing the picket line to sneak-onto the studio lot through a drainage pipe...

Take the Political IQ Test...

-and see if you're any better than the average idiot

This is a terrific test, albeit a couple months dated... very enlightening. But not in a good way... the pitiful results betray the fact that a solid majority of Americans have absolutely no idea what's going on in this country.

80% of the voting public doesn't have a clue
and got less than half right!

This goes some ways towards explaining how a shady post-turtle like Barack Obama found his way into the Oval Office- and how the public can continue to be so easily manipulated by the thoroughly-discredited MSM hacks that endeavor to prop him up.

And there are no trick questions here - just a very simple test to see if you are current on your information. It's only a dozen questions... but NO Googling during the test, kids~

I just took it and got two wrong, I'll admit... but that's still good-enough to put me in the 94%tile, what does that tell you about the American voter today...

Florida Judge: ObamaCare UNCONSTITUTIONAL- Entire Law Voided!

Reagan appointee Roger Vinson puts the kibosh
-at least for now- on the progressives' ultimate folly...

Forbes Magazine via Weasel Zippers:
In a ruling out of the U.S. District Court in Pensacola Justice Roger Vinson has declared that the primary mechanism whereby the health reform achieves universal insurance coverage–the individual mandate–is unconstitutional.

With this ruling, and a similar one in December by Judge Henry Hudson in Virgina, it’s likely that the U.S. Surpreme Court will be the final arbiter of whether ObamaCare stands. (Two other lawsuits–one in Michigan and one in Virginia–were thrown out by other federal district judges last year who disagreed with the constitutional challenge.)

Henry Hudson, the Virginia judge who ruled in favor of that state’s legal challenge, focused on whether Congress has the ability, via the Commerce Clause, to force uninsured people to buy insurance. He concluded that it does not.

Vinson, on the other hand, signaled in an earlier ruling that he was interested in whether the federal fine for not buying insurance is a tax or a penalty. If it’s a penalty, the legislation relies on a broad Commerce Clause interpretation. If it’s a tax, it’s much more difficult to make a constitutional claim against it.

And it gets better- he ruled the whole of ObamaCare unconstitutional... as the individual mandate is not just part and parcel of the bill, but "not severable":

ElBaradei 'a Stooge for Iran'

This two-headed snake is not to be trusted...
if you really need to be told that

While some proud Freedom Agenda conservative scholars -such as Dr Donald Douglas- are genuinely enthused with the recent developments in Cairo, others -such as RS McCain- have from the beginning of the unrest offered numerous notes of caution. Where am I on this?  "mortified" would be an apt way to put it... and I'm not the only one-

Today the director of The Council of Presidents -a US Jewish foreign policy umbrella-group- called former IAEA director, Nobel Peace Prize winner (a sop to the UN, and at the height of the Oil-for-Food scandal), and emerging Egyptian opposition leader Mohamed ElBadaei -who's now working closely with the Muslim Brotherhood to take-over the country- a "stooge of Iran"...
