Following several unsuccessful attempts at winning a US Senate seat in the 80s, Mezvinsky's political career was shelved while second wife Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky entered the US House herself in 1993...

Now Approaching Offutt Air Force Base...

Offutt Air Force Base -a USAF installation near Omaha, Nebraska- is today home to the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), the Air Force Weather Agency, and the 55th Wing of the Air Combat Command, serving as HQ to each.

The base has been with us for some time, and has a storied past: US Army first began flying out of Offutt late in WWI, initially as a balloon field in 1918. It was thus named in honor of World War I pilot and Omaha native 1st Lt. Jarvis Offutt in 1924.

Offutt AFB happens to be where the first two atomic bombers were constructed in complete secrecy in 1944-45 -inc. Enola Gay- and was also HQ of the former Strategic Air Command (SAC), home for its associated ground and aerial command centers for the U.S. in case of nuclear war during the Cold War...
