ObamaCare Flatlined for SoTU

Go 'head, stick-a-fork-in-it: against all odds, ObamaCare is dead meat.

Ed Morrisey at HotAir notes that besides the fact Dingy Harry basically tossed-in the towel yesterday, the most recent poll numbers out of even Obama-friendly CNN seem to spell doom for anything resembling ObamaCare- it's down twenty points now:

Only three in ten Americans say they want Congress to pass legislation similar to the health care reform bills that have already been approved by the House and Senate, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey also indicates that nearly half the public, 48 percent, would like federal lawmakers to start work on an entirely new bill, and 21 percent feel Congress should stop working an any bills that would change the country’s health care system. …

Fifty-eight percent of people questioned in the survey oppose the bills previously passed by the House and Senate, with 38 percent supporting that legislation.

Tonight's State of the Union ought to be an amusing blend of spin and pivot- expect disengenuous pledges of fiscal discipline and job creation topped with a large dollop of blame deflection... this guy's in way, way over his head and everybody and his dog knows it by now.

Update: Obama is to make a fervent final call for passage of ObamaCare tonight-Pelosi claims she has the votes to pass the Senate version, opposite of what she was saying two days ago. Hmm- was she told to bluff to salvage legislator's crumbling morale and prop up the President's speech? Why not, what has she got to lose? And it's not like any morals would ever come into play...
