In Wake of Historic US Credit Downgrade, Bachmann Calls for Geithner to Resign

'Barack Obama is destroying foundation of
our economy one beam at a time...'

Plain Dealer photo

“This president has destroyed the credit rating of the United States through failed economic policies and his inability to control government spending… President Obama is destroying the foundation’s of our economy one beam at a time.

I call on the president to seek the immediate resignation of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and to submit a plan with his list of cuts to balance the budget this year, turn the economy around and put our people back to work.”

Blogger/columnist RS McCain is actually on the road in Iowa to cover this week's campaigning, and says in his American Spectator column that Bachmann -wind at her sails- is about to launch a final bus-tour leading right up to the straw poll next Saturday, August 13th.

Of course, just four months ago this same Treasury Secretary Geithner promised everyone on Fox Business News there's "no way" the US will lose it's premium credit rating- typcially, this administration's word and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee at 7-11 (small).

Bachmann surely has the moral high ground following this debt fight, as most all of the other GOP candidates were nowhere to be seen while she was battling both the Left and GOP old-guard almost single-handedly... same as in resisting the Boehner-Obama "budget cuts" scam previously.

But with Rep Bachmann leading in Iowa just a week prior to the Ames Straw Poll, the long knives are coming-out as less-talented and capable politicians start to see their aspirations evaporate... to be expected I suppose.

I wish her great success in Iowa, she's the toughest we have!

Only one of my favorite three that's running at this point... I arrive at the same conclusion as you, and I have to say I'm impressed with her political skills, she's playing it all really quite well

Like I said once before, she is the only declared candidate (as well as one of the very few of either political persuasion) who has the cahonies to call it as it is and apparently stick to her convictions as promised to her constituents!

You gotta admire that- a rare breed these days to be sure

I will be shocked if Timmy boy gets the axe. That is who the central bankers and Wallstreet want in control.

1) The liberal media screamed that if we didn't raise the debt ceiling it would be 'armageddon'.
2) If we didn't raise the debt ceiling, we'd be downgraded
3) If we didn't raise the debt ceiling, the stock market would crash
4) Anyone who opposed raising the debt ceiling was a 'terrorist'
5) An unconstitutional Super Congress had to be created.
6) Now the White House is actually threatening S&P for issuing the downgrade.

The TEA Party warned us against all this.
Obama, Geithner, Boehner - RESIGN NOW!
TEA!

Right on, Tea

The House has done more then their "fair share" of passing legislation on the debt ceiling issue. But the Senate and veto threats by the President got in the way of REAL reductions. Lay the AA+ down grade at their feet!
This has sealed the defeat of Obama in 2012!

Let's hope so, brother

That's why I want a fighter like Bachmann or Perry... only ones with any nads

WHY aren't other candidates calling for Timmy's resignation...?

Mark Adams said...

Good question, RR. Id' like to know the answer to that myself.

Reaganite Republican said...

We all would

I think the reason WS isn't calling for his resignation is because he is too much, one of them. As previous head of the Federal Reserve, they will protect him. Just my thinking.

Bachmann's statement is as firm and bottom line as a statement can be. She is a fighter and I love that she gets right to it.

We sure could use a few more like her on our side, Maggie- "titanium spine"

Obama needs to resign. Its his Cloward and Piven strategy that is on the verge literally of destroying Europe and the United States.

This is not funny anymore. This is heartbeat serious. The democrats need to call on Obama to resign and be replaced with someone who seriously has the good intentions of ALL AMERICANS at heart and not his progressive/communist base.

OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN.

A-men!

You know what I would love to see is Bachmann for President and Cain as the Vice President just to give him some experience in government BS. Anybody but Romney, I just think that he too fake just another politician. I mean a republican from the North and in office, I do not think so.

Reaganite Republican said...

Sounds good to me

Everyone needs to remember that if Obama were to resign or be impeached, that would put smokin Jo Biden in the seat!

Reaganite Republican said...

Yeah, I always thought that was part of the design from the start, bring in a bootlick sycophant for VP like all Obama lackeys, but one who also represents an unpalatable alternative to Obama to provide a bit of incremental job security

Perry Bachmann has a nice ring to it.

Bush 2 had a strong VP

Sure did
