As you are likely aware, our own NHTSA test-crashes all new cars for sale in the US at speeds up to 40 mph- as do EU authorities and a few others.
One day the folks at English television show Fifth Gear (not
to be confused with Jeremy Clarkson's unparelled Top Gear) wondered over tea what would happen if they had some crash-test pros set up the cement barrier and run a Ford Focus into it at 120 mph... triple normal testing speeds.

So they did it... and this is what happens: 120mph crash test
- Car decelerates from 120-0 in .068 seconds
- Occupants experience up to 400 g on impact
- "-absolutely no survival space at all."

That's like saying a pipe designed to hold 100 psi pressure can't hold 300 psi....well, ok. But a pipe DESIGNED TO HOLD 300 PSI CAN HOLD 300 PSI, JUST LIKE A CAR CAN BE DESIGNED FOR OCCUPANTS TO SURVIVE 120 MPH CRASH......stupid story to say the least.
Why didn't they use a british car.......?
That Ford Focus IS a British car for the most part, engineered at Ford of Germany AND Ford UK.
To the best of my knowledge that British built, RHD Focus is the UK's best seller, or near it

Consider a single car hitting a barrier at 120 mph is the same as two cars hitting head-on at 60 mph each, so this a perfectly plausible scenario.
Error in the narration - not "both cars, each travelling at 120 mph. Rather two cars going 60 mph each and colliding head on.

Not so. Hitting an immovable barrier at 120 is exactly the same as hitting an oncoming 120 mph car. Both are immovable (unyielding).
