Events in Cairo this week appear plenty grim for those Egyptians not-so-into the country's newly installed Muslim Brotherhood president, Mohammed Morsi: even though he only garnered 52% of the vote and is still consolidating power, the other half of the population are already being suppressed aggressively by the MB's storm-trooper-like street muscle.
Much as Hitler found it useful to have loyal thugs (kept at arm's length) out there cracking heads, Morsi also gets to keep a safe distance from ostensibly grass-roots violence against political opponents/Coptic Christians, now up-to-and-including crucifixion (!): several Middle Eastern news outlets reported this week that Muslim Brotherhood brownshirts were observed nailing (naked) Morsi opponents to trees right in front of the presidential palace. There were also widespread harassment/intimation of secular journalists in Egypt by the same sort of MB palookas.
But according to ME consultant Clare Lopez, there was little question Morsi would -at minimum- acquiesce to it, since he and the rest of the Muslim Brotherhood are installing Sharia Law as fast as they can... alas, the Koran demands it:

'Crucifixion is a hadd punishment... an obligatory part of Shariah'... It’s been a traditional punishment within Islam since the beginning, even though it’s not exclusively Islamic. The Romans used it too.
The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood haven’t the option to not include crucifixion within their legal code. It’s obligatory to comply with Shariah. And yes, it’s for shock value also to be sure

And little better in Gaza, mind you: as the US continues to send $1.3+ BILLION a year to Cairo (even after a radical Islamist takeover), MB-allied Palestinians have also been on the receiving end of ill-advised flirtation and oodles of cash emanating from the Obama Administration. While there's been no recent reported crucifixions in the Palestinian territory, the monstrous practice has in-fact already been written into the legal code by Hamas... for Christians only.
