The Russians aren’t anybody’s friend, unless you’re deep-pocketed China, perpetually-needy/useful North Korea/Cuba, a despised tyrant on shaky ground (who doesn’t mind offering-up his ‘beloved’ country to Moscow as a Russian protectorate, if that can save his own ass)— OR a corrupt wannabe petty dictator that can do them some favors in the near-medium term (like Trump did, and Viktor Orban is now doing)-
