The Constitution supports Arizona.

Sure does, my friend... outside of some activist judge, they've got a solid case.

llegal is Illegal. If I was suspected of working for cash, using medicare illeally or cheating on my taxes I would definately be questioned. But maybe that is because I was born and raised in the U.S.

A site dedicated to Reagan talking about controlling illegal immigration. Maybe you missed the 1980's. Reagan IS the reason we are having this problem now

That was a different time, and you're leaving more than a couple things out, "Mark in LA"

Reagan signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986. The act made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants, required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status. This law IS NOT being enforced by the Obama Administration, and (among other things) Arizona law SB1070 seeks to remedy this.

Reagan -to draw a line and start fresh- granted amnesty to approximately 3M million illegal immigrants who entered the United States prior to January 1, 1982, and had lived in the country continuously.

Today's numbers that Obama is looking to for salvation in 2012 would be upwards of 30 MILLION illegal immigrants... 10x the previous amount, and the strict laws that The Gipper packaged with this to turn the page NOT ENFORCED, except by Arizona!

Obama today is fighting tooth and nail -EVEN shaming them by apologizing the the Chinese regime- to block Arizona from applying Reagan's reforms, or to even ask for proof of citizenship when apprehended for a felony.

Reagan at least tried to fix it... where Obama is looking for warm bodies to bus to the polls in 2012 while he gives the rest of us the finger, that's all- and everybody knows it.

Please don't be stupid. Reagan did nothing. Otis Graham as professor at UCSB has documented how Reagan killed any talk about immigration in the white house when talk of Carter's stupid Mariel boat lift was still active. He wouldn't touch it and let Congress do it.

That law is unenforcable the way it is written - by design. Read Juan Mann's columns at Vdare about how hard it is to deport someone who doesn't want to be deported under that law.

Otis Graham also wrote a column (lost the link) where James Baker appologized to him because when Alan Simpson was having trouble getting Republicans to sign on to that piece of trash, Simpson brought up the idea of a trigger on border security before amnesty. Baker said no, amnesty first.

Ronald Reagan was the biggest myth going. He did nothing for the average American. His policies were all about destroying the middle class and illegals were used by his administration to break unions. Meat packing companies sent busses to Mexico to get strike breakers and the Reagan administration looked the other way.

Hey 'Mark in LA',
If we listen to your rhetoric we'll soon all be sitting in occupied Mexico. Maybe you should go vacation there for a long while and get a taste of what life would be like with your course of inaction! Or action, or whatever it is you do!

So me pointing out how worthless Reagan was on this issue and what a fraud he was in general means I don't want to do anything about illegal immigration?

I have been active in the immigration control movement for about 8 years now and was always for stopping all immigration for about 30 years and would have been active if there was an internet and I knew about groups like FAIR. This is the reason I know so much about Reagan and came to dislike him more than I did when I worked in the defense industry and could see the massive amount of money he pissed away on nothing.
