Notes From Cain Gingrich Debate

Reaganite Republican readers, I live-blogged the Cain-Gingrich debate tonight. If you didn't see it, I captured some of the main thoughts and am sharing them here with you. I couldn't get everything, and it is a very casual blog, so grammar and spelling were not imperative. I was impressed, loved the format. The dialog covered only entitlements: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Moderators Ben Streusand from Americans for Prosperity, and Congressman Steven King (R-IA). King will give background on Congressman Paul Ryan's Budget Plans pertaining to the three entitlements. Here it is:

Second Veteran Injured at Occupy Oakland: Violence and Mayhem Reign

Kayvan Sabehgi is a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He says he was beaten by police with batons. Sabehgi is in intensive care with a lacerated spleen. Another Oakland protester and Iraq vet, Scott Olsen, was injured on October 25th in Oakland. "Occupiers" in Oakland have taken an increasingly violent turn and have attempted to shutdown the city - and have done a good job of it. In fact, they have succeeded in shutting down the Port of Oakland, the 5th-busiest port for container traffic in the U.S. And the rowdies are calling for a "general strike."

Egyptian Military Moves to Retain All Power: "The Protector of Constitutional Legitimacy"

Scary things continuing in the post-Mubarak Egyptian Cabinet, which has proposed that the Egyptian military shall have no "oversight." The Cabinet is appointed by the military. Should the proposal become law, military generals will have a veto over all military legislation, AND such military will be deemed "the protector of constitutional legitimacy." There are threats of another revolution. And this: The measure also is designed to curtail the likely influence by Islamist lawmakers over the writing of a new constitution. It depends on what the meaning of Islamist is, doesn't it. No one is happy but the military. In the meantime, the new Egyptian liberation is experiencing tourism down by 42 percent. Camels are butchered daily. No one comes to take a trot around the pyramids.

Cain Supporter Ruffles Martin Bashir: I Made It To The Big Time on MSDNC

You have to love this story. Not only did Cain supporter Apostle Claver rally voters by declaring Democrats the "Party of the Ku Klux Klan, the Party of Jim Crow and the Party of Segregation," appearing on MSNBC with the highly-partisan Martin Bashir, he smiled hugely and said he had made the big time by appearing on MSDNC.
